SCAMPER

S - Substitute (Is there any better alternative we can replace?)

C - Combine (Can we put two ideas together to create a better product?)

A - Adapt (Is there any modification we can make to fit the goal?)

M - Modify (Can you change the product better?)

P - Put To Other Use (How can our product fulfill purposes?)

E - Eliminate (Can any part of the idea or product be eliminated to make it more efficient?)

R - Reverse (What would happen if the product is worked differently?)

What we have done

Since we are advised to move our idea from formulation to automation, we returned to our first ideation - vacuum mopper.

SCAMPER we have used:

COMBINE: Combine both a mop and a vacuum cleaner into one

ADAPT: To adapt for the use for disinfecting

MODIFY: To modify the combined vacuum cleaner to allow the boiling of water into steam

Steam - wet and disinfect the ground

Powerful suction - suck up dirt and oil

Detachable module mop - wipe the ground

Presented this drawing with Ms Oh, she brought up the safety issue of the modified vacuum cleaner

Some questions:

Is the heating element a danger to the user?

Is the device heavy for the general public to use?

How will the electrical works be carried out?

Is the steam a danger to the user?

How will the steam be ejected at command to the nozzle?

How does the system handle overpressure in the tank?

Idea was scrap as it is concerned about safety issues.

Brainstorm time

With the help from Ms Oh, we came out with an idea to make a machine that can make coffee and teas of different type such as Teh O, and the machine will make it and "tarik" it which is to incorporate air bubble into the drink.

Coffee/Tea mixer machine

consist of:

- different compartments to store ingredients

- ejection tubes

- turntable cup holder

Some questions: Is the turntable cup holder able to "tarik"? How does this machine able to replace coffeeshop drinks? How to build this product?

Research was made to help us build our product.

Feasibility Analysis and COWS

We used this method to help us on our decision on our final product.

We have decided on the Coffee/Tea mixer machine as our product as its more feasible and has the highest scoring as material selected is more realistic to create the product.
