Ping Pong Ball launcher

With the goal to sketch out a Ping Pong Ball launcher, our group went ahead and research how a ping pong ball launcher works.

Firstly, we needed to figure how a ping pong ball is launched in the first place. We decided to use gears as the launching mechanism. The gears' only purpose was to launch the ball by rotating at high speeds while the ball makes contact and launches. the gear is used to push the ball away. If we were to use a normal disk, the ball is at risk of not making good contact with the ball and making the ball spin in place. Therefore the gears are being used.

Secondly, we need to figure out how the gears will be powered. Fortunately, we can use a simple rotor to rotate the gears

Thirdly, we needed a way to release the ball into the gear while also powering the gears in a way that it would not be on all the time.

We design it to have 2 triggers, one to power the gears while another one to release the ball.

Lastly, we would have a place for the ping pong balls to be stored which will be directly above the gears. The size of the storage is flexible as it can be designed to fit as much as you need or as little as you need.
